Degustabox July Review

*ignore the 'june' in the first photo its meant to be July! Doh!
Hey Beauties!

It's been a while since I've reviewed the ever so interesting Degustabox*. If you haven't heard of Degustabox I will give you a quick low down of what it's all about. Just like our monthly subscription box but instead you get 9-12 full size new to the market food/drink items.

Lambrini so strawberry - Lambrini isn't one of the brands you here about anymore, I actually used to drink the original Lambrini a few years ago but since then I don't drink at all. I'll open this up at some point to share with friends and have a little drink as the new strawberry flavour really intrigues me!

Newton's appl fizzics - A brand I've not heard of this is completely natural, no artificial ingredients and no added sugar, In fact it contains 40% less sugar then your everyday apple juice, I'm super looking forward to trying this one, I'm hoping it's like a healthy appletizer!

Tasty Little Numbers - These are pretty cool if portion control is something your looking for with a mix between 100-200 calories per meal they're the perfect dinner if your watching your weight! I won't actually try these but I think my fiancee will love them!

Say Yes To No - Are you ready for a list? No artificial flavourings or additives, No marketing lies, no photoshopped images(on packaging), No colourings. Say yes to no are a company who are really laying it all out bare being completely transparent in not only what's in the product but the way it's advertised to. I think that's pretty genius and these Sour Cream and Onion bread chips are all the more appealing for it!

Geetas Mango Chutney -  I love mango chutney so I was really happy to see this in my box and I've got a feeling that it'll go really well with the chips above! Geeta's is this months DB's discoveries meaning it's a lesser known brand but still one that's eager to expand.

Jele Beautie - So Jele is Tilands best selling jelly snack with a massive amount of produce. I couldn't find much information but on this page it shows everything the sell. I'm so sure that I used to buy something a lot like this in a tiny little plastic container when I was younger my favourite flavour being Lychee! But anyway they also have these drinks with added collagen and vitamins I don't think I'll drink it and all of a sudden look like Angelina Jolie but its a nice ploy!

Weetabix on the go - Weetabix in drink form makes me feel queasy if I'm honest and the smell makes me feel even worse but If your looking for a high protein, high energy and loads of vitamins in the morning for breakfast this will be for you!

Fru Snax - These are pretty interesting, frozen and then evaporated locking in all the fruity flavour. They also contain less then 50 calories, which make them the perfect snack.

Taking the pea - A little bit of a strange name for a food company and an even stranger combination of flavours, fresh English grown peas containing high fibre and less fat then regular nuts. These are flavoured with smoked ham though which I think is really odd! I'm still pretty excited to try it!

Overall, I absolutely love these boxes and think they are an amazing idea! Keep up to date with my instagram @glitterinfatuat and if I really enjoy anything I'll put it up there with a mini review! Have you/will you try anything from this Degustabox?

Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick

Hello Beauties!

I recently won a competition and this Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick(what a name!). I was so excited as I haven't tried anything from Too Faced and it seems to be everywhere especially the melted lipstick range. Soapbox(the company running the competition) let me choose any colour I like and actually had to hunt this one down for me which was so very sweet of them!

One thing that keeps coming round at the moment for me is packaging, I feel like companies are really looking into it deeper and bringing out really unique stand out packaging and these lipsticks are no exception! The gold detailing on the box and tube are the icing on the cake and just give it that 'luxury' feel. I also like how the colour on the box/tube is also representative of the lipstick shade inside.

When you twist off the lid your met with a doe foot applicator that dispenses the product inside with a little(very little) squeeze of the tube. The applicator is really soft and perfect for evenly dispensing the product, no patchiness. Too faced claims 'no applicator' is needed which I agree with to an extent, somehow the tip stays perfectly in the line you permit and gives you great control but, my lips are fairly wide so it just fits but I think if you had thinner lips control might be harder to achieve.

The colour I choose was Melted Nude, I really love nudes at the moment and this one is a real peachy nude, In fact for me and my pale skin tone it leans to the orange shade you can see in the photo, I would say it washes me out a little but it's nothing a bit of bronzer and blush can't correct. The formula is really opaque so you can go really light for a subtle finish or heavier for more depth, I personally prefer going a little bit lighter. The finish starts off pretty glossy but dries to satin/matte I've seen a fair few people saying that this will last a whole day on the them and the packaging says 'Long Lasting' but for me I say 3+ hours which I don't mind all that much but when you wear it you've just got to remember to top it up if your out and about.

These retail at around £15, which is a little steep. However I can justify it buy saying it's a pretty awesome looking product, the applicator is of course gimmicky but it works really well, the packaging is stunning, the colour pay off is crazy good and the finish is one of my favourites! I've got my eye on a few of the newer shades too, Melon and Sugar look amazing!

Have you tried any of Too Faced Liquid Lipsticks?

Urban Decay De-Slick Review

 Happy Weekend Beauties!

As you know I've become a little bit obsessed with Urban Decay, After recently purchasing the On the Run palettte(Read the review here) I wanted to try more particularly the base products but as I haven't got a counter near me I've got no idea what shade I'll be so I settled on this De-Slick face powder, I actually managed to pick this up for only £13ish on the Feel Unique website it's gone back up to £19.50 now but keep an eye out as I've seen it on offer more then once!

Can we just talk about the packaging? As much as sleek matte make-up packing is all the rage with other brands I love the way Urban Decay push the boat out and it really just stand out against other companies. This compact is probably one of the prettiest I've ever seen it's fairly bulky but not to the point where it won't fit in my make-up bag but strong enough that I'm not afraid it'll break and the insides won't shatter and go everywhere(Soap & Glory I'm looking at you.) I also love the purple design on the front it's eye catching and the mirror on the inside is super big but really clear too!

Okay on to the powder itself, I really did buy this on a whim, my current powder that I wasn't really loving exploded and it was becoming to much of a pain to hoover off my floor every morning, so I went on a online shopping trip and just thought 'I'm going to wing it' I mean, I've loved everything I've got from Urban Decay so far so I did have high hopes going into this. It's not disappointed me, With the hot weather that's graced the UK recently I've noticed my skins so much more oilier and make-ups started sliding. So the first thing I noticed is how fine this powder is it's so fine in fact I think it would be impossible for it to become cakey. It's also translucent which makes it perfect for all skin tones, I've also noticed it sets my make-up so so well although I'd go really lightly under eyes as it does settle a little in the creases it's also 100% mattifying so you'll need to add some 'glow' so you don't look flat. Other then that I've got no flaws with this product it absorbs excess oils and keeps your make-up in place!

Overall I am in love with this face powder! If you have any other Urban Decay recommendations I would absolutely love to hear them!

Why I've switched from Hightreet to High End

Hello Beauties!

I've been meaning to type this one up for a while now and it's part of a series of posts I've got coming up, Including my previous 'how to handle make-up counters!', I've consciously made a choice to swap my beloved high street make-up and skincare over to high end spurges. For a girl who once loved a bargain and would get excited over 'dupes' this is a pretty big deal but one I feel I've had to make, and why?

For the past 10-11 years I've battled with acne, if you follow me on twitter I talk about it openly and for years and years I'd been buying different treatments from high street stores, Granted they work well for some people and for a short while for me but the more I look at my skin and the way it is now i've probably done more damage then I've done good. My main goal was switching skincare, I sampled a fair few brands before settling on Clinique. Now while I'm not 100% sure this is classed as a high end brand it is from a counter, which I might add gave me some of the best skin care advise i've ever been given, those ladies know their business! I'm also sampling(I was given a ton by another counter staff) Estee Lauders Clear Difference Gel I've got about a 3 month supply in samples, but I'll be 100% purchasing when it runs out. Within weeks I've seen a huge improvement in my skin, to the point where I don't wake up in tears thinking about what I'll look even with make-up on, my confidence has sky rocketed. The only thing I've changed is my skincare, I'm going to go out there and say it's probably the quality of the products that have helped. I want to look after my skin and always be this happy with it, so for now high end skincare is doing that and that's what I'll be sticking too!

Along with creating a healthier base I wanted make-up that would 1. Do what it says it would 2. Be full coverage and 3. Last a whole shift a work and not only those three things but I wanted something that would actually match my super fair skin. The amount of high street foundations I brought over 11 years would have been enough to buy me a holiday, not only that but they suffocated my skin, blocked my pores and the colour matches where awful! So I went on a hunt, I was willing to lay down serious money for a foundation that did everything I wanted and matched my skintone, I went through so many samples, had a fair few 'make-overs' at counters until I found just what I was looking for which happened to be Estee Lauders Double Wear Light in the shade 1.0. I'll go into more detail in a product review of this one but it suits me perfectly and my skin can finally breathe, I'm not paranoid it's going to slip all over my face and it covers imperfection beautifully.

Granted, This is all I've brought so far but I work part time so buying a whole new make-up collection isn't going to happen for me over night(unless I win the lottery, fingers crossed guys!) and now I've got my bases sorted I'm looking for concealers, eyeliners and blushes! So if you have any recommendations on those I'd love to hear them and while I think high end make-up is incredibly snazzy there are a few high street buys I don't think I'll ever be able to part with! I also don't think I'll buy high end mascaras, as weird as it sounds I practically have no eyelashes so there's no really point, I'd rather buy some pretty false eyelashes, something's never change!

What's you favourite high end beauty buy and I'd love to hear your experiences with high street vs high end?

Urban Decay On The Run Review

Happy Weekend Beauties! I hope your all well,

I'm going to tell you a secret and its a pretty big one actually. I've fallen in love, yep, you are reading that right. I've fallen in love with Urban Decay. We'll just say it was love at first swatch? I picked this absolutely beautiful Urban Decay On The Run palette in the House of Fraser sale for £25 which is an amazing price as it's usually £37 I also got the travel sized Primer Potion(a full size lasted me a good 2 years, a tiny bit goes a really long way.) and that then qualified me to get a deluxe sample of the new Revolution High Colour lipgloss! So for £35 I didn't do too badly!

I've always wanted to give urban decay eyeshadows a whirl and this 'to-go' palette contained so many other product I couldn't refuse. It contains 6 eyeshadows. The slightly larger one to the right on the blush is called Dive and is an absolutely stunning lid colour, a really pale rose with a champagne shimmer. The other five colours are all the variants of warm brown shades you'll ever need. Mattes, shimmers and satins they are beautifully pigmented, aren't chalky and blend like a dream. I understand the hype for Urban Decay eyeshadows now and have my eye on the new Smokey palette!

Along with the eyeshadows you also receive. A pretty pink blush with a little shimmer, a very warm(orange toned) blusher with shimmer the ever famous 24/7 glide on eyeliner, A deluxe sample of the perversion mascara and a full sized lipgloss! Something I really adore about this palette is the ease of use, a really sturdy copper case holds everything in place and I would 100% take this out with me with no fear of it getting ruined. Another thing I really enjoy is the fact you can swap and change the Lipgloss, Mascara and Eyeliner making it a really versatile palette too! Imagine how much space it'll save in your suitcase!

What Urban Decay make up should I try next?

How To Handle Make-up Counters

Hello Beauties!

This post is in correlation with a few other posts I've got coming up on 'higher' end make-up/skin and I thought it would be a great thing to share being a completely newbie to approaching make-up counters and using said high end make-up/skin care.

  • Don't be nervous - That's something easier said then done that's for sure. I've never been great at the awkward 'first impression' thing and starting a conversation doesn't come naturally to me. I would 100% prefer to shop in my own time but without fail every time I've been to a counter I've been asked 'Do you need any help?' by the staff. So instead of say 'No thank you' and  regretting it the second I want to try something out. I say 'Sure, I've been looking at..' or 'Yes, please I've heard so much about...' or even 'Sure, What's new?' Trust me, they will take the conversation from there!
  • Use the staff to your advantage - These ladies know exactly what they are talking about and if it's a quiet day they might even give you a make-over,(Bobbi Brown, are AMAZING for this, you leave with a face chart with products they used.) These ladies/gents know what they are talking about, they spend their whole day with these products so use that knowledge. Want a foundation with medium coverage? Ask! Want a skincare range that will suit your skin type perfectly? Ask! They are there to help you.
  • Samples - I'm super picky, when I know I want to spend good(and a lot of money) on a product. I was always so nervous about asking samples but knowing I wanted a high end foundation that wouldn't upset my skin was a big thing for me, considering you aren't allowed to take make-up back played a massive part. The way I found my perfect match was through samples and 'make-overs' although they take a lot longer. Samples are my preferred choice, I get to try them at home, with my brushes, in my time. I actually never had a problem with getting samples and the girls/guys at the counters never turned me down or said no so bare that in mind, I've asked for alot and the magority of the time they usually throw in a few extras.
  • Do a little bit of research, Walking into a big retailer like John Lewis or House of Fraser can sometimes be daunting. Especially if you are like me and new to the whole experience, the best advice I can probably give is do a little interest, read a few reviews, know what your heading in there to try or what brand your focusing on, Luckily I work and live really close to a big retailer so I was able to do one or two counters every time I wondered in,
Anyway, I hope that helps! I'll have a few more like this coming up in the future to so stay tuned!

Wantable Make Up Collection Review

 Hello Beauties!

I'm so excited to tell you all about this new subscription box from Wantable* It's a monthly subscription box from america, you receive 4-5 full sized products that are 100% catered and suited to you! How do you ask? Well, you answer a fair few question based on you skin tone, preferred mediums and favourite colours, I've never seen a subcription box go into so much detail and this means your more then likely to love everything in the box but it's still a pleasant surprise.

Now as this box is american I am totally unfamiliar with the brands in the box but I can tell you my experience with them. Frankie & Rose Eyeshadow Palette - This is beautiful! Containing 5 gorgeously pigments shades 2 matte and 3 shimmer, they aren't at all chalky and really high quality. I've actually had a nose on the website these are sold on and this palette is $23.90! Manna Kadar Eyeliner - I haven't stopped wearing this since the day I swatched on my arm! It wouldn't come off even when I really washed it which in my eyes is the perfect eyeliner, There's nothing I dislike more then when an eyeliner runs. This one is the shade Cognac and it retails for $24. Pout Shout Lipgloss - You know that classic lip plumping lip gloss smell that's similar to mint chocolate ice cream? This has that smell! It's doesn't plump my lips too much but it does look really nice and fairly opaque for a lipgloss $14. Fero Blush x3 - 100% minerals, 100% cruelty free, 100% paraban free, and Vegan, this brand has so much going for it and this blusher is no exception, It's blends like a dream and stays put all day, $21.

Overall I am so so impressed with this box! They retail at $40 per box and $34 there after. However as you can see the contents actually amount to far more then the original price. I really really enjoyed this box and it was fun trying out brands I have never heard of before.

Would you try the Wantable subscription box?

Fun Things To Do In London

Hey Beauties!

Growing up in London I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite things to do! I absolutely adore London and spent a good portion of my childhood/teenage years exploring the trains and streets. You might find this useful if your having a first time visit or if your at a bit of a loose end!
  • Camden Market - This is where I spent a really large amount of time when I was a teenager and now when I go back as an adult I can always remember the funny moments I shared with Camden, If your looking for the market head on over to the Stables market and if foods more your thing make your way to the West yard where there is the most amazing Gobal food market! Of course if markets aren't your thing you can peruse the unusual shops and sit by the canal with a starbucks coffee!
  • Harrods, Selfridges & Harvey Nichols - Three of my favourite places in London, yes they are expensive, and yes, they are always super busy but if you forget the people around you and really soak up the atmosphere you'll get a shopping experience like no other! To be honest, my favourite place of the above stores is always the food departments something about the over the top extravagance really excites me! You'll never see anything quiet like it anywhere else.
  • London Zoo - This is another place I hold close to my heart as it reminds me of being super little and visiting with my mum! We went quiet a lot when I was little and it always felt so much bigger but going back as an adult is a completely different experience and one that I really love as I adore animals! However, I refuse to go in the 'bug house' and can't quiet understand why they play 'bug noises' outside it, it makes my skin crawl. However, it's a really lovely day out and its in a pretty awesome location too!
  • Borough Market - I first came here about a year or so a go and I loved it so much I went twice in one week! If you love food this really is the place for you and a really old school London market vibe is what enchants me about this place. The melted cheese stand is one of the most mesmerising things I've ever seen along with the massive fruit and veg stalls with delish freshly squeezed juices! Yum!
  • South Bank - If you've got your walking shoes on this one is for you, I often walk the whole length of South bank(St James's park is near too, HERES a post all about it!)which starts at the London Eye(across the river is Big Ben) Aquarium and London dungeons also recently moved here then there is usually some kind of happening as you carry on walking, last time I went it was a massive Spanish festival but around Christmas time there's a magical German market! Keep walking and you'll reach The Tate Modern, go a bit furtherer and you be at the globe theatre, there's also some really great restaurants and the cutest little pubs around this area and down the twisted alleys and if you go even further you wind up at Borough Market! To me, that's my perfect day out in London! It's gorgeous to look at as you walk the Thames and there's more 'adult' things to do!
I suppose that's it although, as I was writing this I remembered so many other things I love to do in London so I might type up another one soon! Let me know if you've done any of these things? and if not what's your favourite past time in London?

Beauty Sale Top Picks #1

Sale buys #1

Hello Beauties!

I thought this might be a fun post to do, I'm always looking for an offer on make-up and skincare so I thought to help you guys out too I'd create this new series! It's sale season at the moment so beauty bargains are everywhere to be found, but if your not looking in the right place they can be hard to come by and often disappear really quickly. So I thought I'd cut out the hard work and find them for you, I wanted to add things that were a good price but also items that equal way more then you would normally buy them for!

Let's start off with the Theirry Mugler - Womanity 10ml for £9.95; Granted it is only 10ml but it is a Theirry Mugler classic and it's refillable which makes it the perfect holiday perfume, pop it your bag a go! Speaking of holidays, I always find it super inconvient carrying around a load of eyeshadow palletes, lipsticks and blushers but this Yves Saint Laurent Couture Wild Collectors Edition Palette ticks all the boxes. Originally £70 and now only £34.50 your getting a pretty good deal, Containing 5 stunning eye shadows, 2 lipsticks and one blusher all in a beautifully presented case! I also spotted this stunning Stilla Lip and Cheek cream in - Hibiscus for £8 that's

Now on to the good 'deals' as I like to call them! Multiple products; some full sized and some not for a combined price that's usually less then one full sized product! Does that make sense? First up is the Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Gift set - This is priced at £25 which is the same as buying the mascara alone only with this gift set you get a mini eyeliner and a mini faux clis mascara too so that's three products for the same price as one! Next up is the L'Occitane Shower Gel Collection this has one full size Cherry Blossom Shower gel and 3 mini shower gels and creams if you've ever tried anything from L'Occitane you'll know just how high quality their products are and how at £25 this is an exceptionally good deal! Last up the Ren Neroli & Grapefruit Duo, Now I've tried Ren skincare in the past and really enjoyed it so I'm hoping the body care would be just as good, this set contains a 200ml Shower Gel and a 200ml Body Lotion presented in a limited edition tin, everywhere else I've looked this set is £25(and the shower gel and lotion seperatly are £16 each!) but on space NK you can nab this one for £12.50!

So there we have it, will you be picking anything up out of my top picks?!

Coloristiq Review

Hello Beauties!

I'm so excited to show you this little manicure box from Coloristiq*. You may have heard of Coloristiq before as they are the blockbuster of nail polish, They are the same company that allows you to rent three nail polishes a month and then send the back when you are done! However, today I'm bringing you something new, The Manicure box! Subscribe for £15.00 a month and you'll receive a selection of themed nail polish, June's box revolved around the 'Festival Fever' theme.

On first impressions I was a little bit underwhelmed if I'm honest. The box the nail polishes came in reminded me of something you would buy in bulk from ebay, I understand this is a pretty new company though and things like that will always improve in time, I'm just one of those people that like everything as whole to be aesthetically pleasing. However, when I opened the little box I was great with a great 'greatings' card filling me in on all the information needed and inside was a super cute nail art guide for inspiration.

Then, I moved on to the contents. They are amazing! Nail Foils by YRNAILS, My favourite top and base coat from Sally Hansen, The most gorgeously glittery OPI nail polish, A neon Models Own polish and two super adorable mini China Glazes! I was gob-smacked all these goodies and well known, much loved brands for only £15.00? Amazing! That's defiantly an unbeatable price.

This box is now sold out but you can pick up the July box with the 'Summer Get Away' theme on the website. I would 100% recommend this if you are a nail polish addict, they would even make a lovely birthday present!

Which nail polish should I use first? and what do you think of a nail polish subscription box?

Sweet Cecily's Hand Cream Review

Hey Beauties!

I'm so sorry this post is a little late, The sunshine along with spending tons of time with family over the last few days has really put my routine out of whack. Never the less, I'm here now with a super cute review!

The lovely people over at Sweet Cecily's sent me this really sweet little Elderflower & Almond hand cream* and on reading up more about this cute little company and I'm pretty impressed they use natural ingredients that are good for your skin and for the environment they've really researched the products they've used and even have a page dedicated to tell you just what you'll find in your selected product HERE. It's always so lovely to see a company putting so much effort into making gorgeous and good for you products.

I'll start off with the packaging, it came to me in a gorgeous little linen bag with the sweetest note attached, the hand cream is packaged in a lovely little plastic jar, I really like the all round 'natural' vibe these products give off, kind of like home made but really beautifully articulated.

The hand cream itself actually has a pretty unusual texture! It's thick but its also whipped making it super light on the skin, it's hard to describe but think of whipped cream and you'll get the idea. The smell reminds me of grape? but I think it's the floral elderflower coming through I was expecting the almond to make it smell sweet like marzipan but I can't smell anything like that. The smell it's offensive in anyway and it's not noticeable once the cream has settled in.  I've been using this cream for the past few weeks and I have to say my hands are in really great condition, I work with them a lot and carry heavy things all the time so sometimes they can be a little worse for wear especially round the cuticle area and my nails but they've really improved and I've even seen some nail growth which hardly ever happens and I can thank this cream for that!

I really enjoyed taking these photo's in mum's garden too, the natural packaging and the flowers really look gorgeous together. It's not often a product I review co-insides with the outside so well so I think that's something to take on board! Who know's I might venture outside for blog photos more often! If you manage to make it over to Sweet Cecily's website then check out the 'make your own kits' they look like so much fun!

Have you tried anything from Sweet Cecily's?

Favourite Youtube Channels

Source

Hello Beauties!

So, Now that I've told you all about my favourite blogs I thought I would share with you my favourite youtube channels. I'm a massive youtube fan, and follow so many varities of channels I thought this one might be a good one to share too!

Glam & Gore is run by the absolutely amazing Mykie, This girl has talent like no other! She's a self taught special effects and professional beauty artist, if that's not awesome I don't know what is! Her channel features tutorials of your everyday 'glam' looks, cut crease, how to apply false eyelashes and so on but it also caters to the more macabre side of things like a Zombie Sloth, Pre/Post Op Barbie and Pop Art Zombae's. It also sounds a little crazy but once you watch one video your instantly hooked on Mykie as she's absolutely hilarious!

Do you ever watch a youtuber and think(in the least creepiest way) 'We would 100% be best friends.' This is how I and I think everyone else who watches her feel about Estee everything she says I find my self nodding along too. I always feel there's a real humbleness and honesty to her videos that you sometimes don't get from vloggers. She does a whole host of  beauty hauls, tutorials and she even has a pretty epic vlog channel that I love watching too! This one isn't to be missed!

I have always wanted to go to Japan and I now vicariously do so though Candanian born Sharla! She moved to Japan and now spends her free time vlogging her experience, She's covered everything from food, clothing and festivals. I could honestly watch her videos all day! If your ever interested in going to Japan defiantly subscribe to her as she gives some great advice about Japan too!

Emma is another self taught make-up artist, who mainly does make-up tutorials but they are so up my street! She loves a smokey eye and dark lip and tends to stick to the grunge look. With her pale skin and dark hair I can relate to items she uses and find it super useful when she mentions what foundations/concealers she uses(we all know that battle!). With her lovely personality and super cute voice she's a great youtuber to watch,

So there it is my favourite Youtubers! Let me know if any of these are yours too or if they are different, I want to know who you guys watch?
